So you want to know how to be a webcam model and make a ton of money, right? Well I’m going to give you the somewhat obvious, but always overlooked guide to using party chats to make lots of money. To be a webcam model is to be someone who can creatively use their ideas to make lots of money. And I hope this quick refresher will help a lot more people to capitalize on this awesome feature.

When to use party chat. One answer might be, anytime you feel like it. But that’s not very inspiring. I always recommend that people END their shifts with a party chat. A good party chat will wear you out, and if you start out with it you might miss a lot of good private shows. So if you’re doing a 4 hour shift, plan on 3 hours of working for private shows and then an hour of party chat at the end. Also, it can be good to just login and do a party chat randomly throughout the day for 30-60 minutes to make some quick cash. Another good time to do a party chat is when you’re room is slow/boring. Party chats draw a lot of users in that otherwise might not have stopped in your room. So using quick 5-10 minute 300-500 credit party chats for a quick show is a good way to make some money and draw in new users who might then be interested in private shows.

How to use them. (This is the important part of this post).

Don’t just press party chat and wait to see what happens. It’s important that you SET GOALS. If you want to do a 10 minute show for 800 credits. Post that as your topic. And remind people of it regularly. Use variety and don’t do the same party chat every time. Be creative and figure out what users really want, and then deliver it. Maybe you really like role playing, well that doesn’t usually translate into a good party chat (even though it can). If all of your users want to see you strip tease, do a strip tease show. But always go for things with mass appeal that will entertain many.

Engage your customers, talk to people. Your room will get really busy during party chats. And if the party chat isn’t going well and you miss your goal, feel free to end it and try to turn the traffic surge into a private show. Always go for a private show after party chats. Your room will be buzzing and you should use that to make money. So avoid going into break right afterwards, as that decimates the interest.

Don’t just sit there and wait for something to happen. Be aggressive and active in a party chat. Make demands and people will usually oblige. But no one is going to come in and throw money at a model who is doing absolutely nothing. And even if you are doing a lot, if you aren’t making specific requests, a lot of people will be happy to not tip.

Party chats can be a great tool, and I recommend more people use them to good effect.

This is perhaps the most common ailment among those of us who have decided to be a webcam model.

Probably 90% of the people I hire are the only ones in their social group that are webcam models, and most keep it private from their friends. This isolation makes it really hard to stay continually motivated and work hard. I seriously agonized about this for a year, because I knew that it was imploding the income of a lot of our people and I wanted a way to fix it.

My first thought was, “well I could just convince every model to sign up every one of their friends”. This was one of those, “wouldn’t that be nice” ideas that I never really contemplated, and when I started actually trying it, it backfired amazingly! Basically 2 things happened, I lost a lot of models. Then I lost more models. Each of those phases had it’s own reason.

For the models who actually went out and tried to recruit their friends they essentially got the typical response that any Joe Blow off the streets would give, “whoa that’s weird, you’re weird” ad nauseum. Because if the thought of being a webcam model hasn’t crossed someones mind, it is indeed very strange. From the huge negative response a lot of people would receive from pitching their friends, they would doubt the legitimacy of it, and fade into our history book as well. So terrible idea part 1.

Then there were the people who successfully recruited a lot of their friends to be a webcam model. Undoubtedly once their recruiter income started to exceed their modeling income, they quit modeling. They thought, “well this is a heck of a lot easier”. After about 2 weeks when half their models gave up and the remaining few got their first big paycheck and took a long break to spend it their income dropped to zero. But they had already had the taste of “easy money” and decided that going back to webcam modeling wasn’t for them. I don’t know where a lot of these people ended up, but I’m afraid it might be somewhere near a grocery store bagging line.

So that approach was basically just one huge failure after another (there are more I didn’t mention). The next idea was where I struck gold, even though it took me a long time to realize it. It was as simple as finding a way to connect all of the models I already had. Dozens of people had emailed me and expressed interest in getting to know other people who worked for us. I liked the idea but implementing it seemed impossible in every way.

The first idea I had was Facebook. I know almost everyone has it, and everyone is on it all the time. But I abandoned it quickly because I knew models wouldn’t want wall posts about those crazy webcam modeling stories we like to share for their parents and friends to read. I looked at other interfaces and considered spending a lot of money to implement something but in the end I decided that they were all just too many extra steps that most people probably wouldn’t want to go through the hassle of getting involved with and would likely fail. So I let it sit for a few more months with no real progress while the demand continued.

Then the most obvious answer of all presented itself and I had to kick myself for not realizing it sooner, “Facebook Groups”. it’s a relatively new addition to Facebook’s services, but I realized I could make a group, set it as secret, and no one except for the members of the group would be able to see that it exists. Also, none of the content posted in the group would ever show up anywhere except for the group itself. Ahh solutions!

I talked to a few of my close friends/models and got pretty much 100% positive feedback. So I set it up and started inviting people one by one. This was about 2 weeks ago and the group already has been an absolutely awesome hit. I didn’t open it up to the entire company because I wanted to maintain some control over how it grows and the content in it.

It’s proven to be a priceless resource not just for me but for a lot of the models. People webcam modeling in Georgia are now becoming friends with other models in California and so forth. And the best part is, all of the people in the group are naturally similar, like minded people. So it’s been a positive, helpful experience for everyone involved.

And of course, new models at Pandora Entertainment are always welcome to join this awesome party. Just shoot me an email and ask once you’ve gotten started. What I love most actually is that a new model can get real time feedback from the veterans on issues/problems they are having starting out. It’s nice to know that you’re not the only one going through things.

There are a lot of different things you can do with your modeling account. Here’s the ideal setup. Customize it to your own preferences. But if you can put this system in place, you’ll be a lot better off. It will make you utilize all the tools we’ve created to make you a better, more popular performer.

#1. Pictures. Take Awesome quality pictures, that are 320×240 in size, that showcase you in your awesomeness. Change your main display image every 2-3 weeks. And try to upload new, awesome pictures at least once per month. We put 3-5 up when you start, that is the bare minimum (think pieces of flair in Office Space). If you have 30-40 pictures to scroll through that are all high quality, professionally done. People will assume you’re a super model, and you will be. Perception is reality, and your photos are the easiest way to control that.

#2. Bio forms. For fantasies, interests, special info, etc. Fill these out in a way that expresses you to your customers. Highlight the parts you know they will like. Be detailed or vague, whichever best tells you.

#3. Categories. Pick your main category and stick with it. For the other 2-3. I’d recommend cycling through and trying out different ones. It will expose you to different customers and ideas. You may have never considered “Domination” but put yourself in the category for a week (as a secondary) and see how you do. You don’t have to do new shows, because of it. Just do what you normally do, in a separate category. If you find some that for some reason you do really good in, stick with them.

#4. Blog. It’s a great tool, USE IT. Mention things your customers will know about in it. Etc. One per week is enough. Tell them your plans for the week, etc. It’s good business.

#5. VODs. Named VODs, that are placed in categories sell more. You should spend time each week naming all your VODs, adjusting price based on quality, and putting it in the appropriate category. A lot of times named VODs sell 3-5x more than blank ones. So name them all.

That’s a good start, and it’s all really easy to implement. It’s up to you. This is the super model guide, not the average model guide. If you want to be the best, you have to work like the best.

The very best models all use schedules. Without exception.

If you aren’t as good as you want to be, use a schedule, it will make you better. Here’s why.

#1. You know when you’ll be on. If you want to work 60 hours per pay period, schedule them. On the site, on your calendar, on a sheet of paper that you carry with you everywhere, whatever you need to do. People who plan out when they log on, actually log on. People who intend to login but don’t plan it, tend not to.

#2. Your fans know when you’ll be on. Post your schedule online (either with the tool or on a blog post). People will wait for you. They will plan their days around seeing you, seriously.

#3. I know when you’ll be on. If you’re struggling in anyway online. We’re happy to monitor your room and help. But that’s not likely if your login times are’t known to us. We do have some other things we do also.

You should be using a schedule. It just makes sense. It’s not hard, and it will make you better. So if you’re not doing it, you’re shooting yourself in the foot.

Sitting online in an empty room is boring. Here are some tips on keeping your room packed. And making it seem busy even when it’s not.

#1. Say hi, by name, to every person that comes in your room that is a white or gold name. This will make more people stick around. Then just work your magic if they respond.

#2. Invent conversation if your room is pretty slow an no one is responding. Just pretend a customer is whispering to you, and then get into a deep elaborate (completely fake) conversation where you share awesome stories and laugh, and have fun. Imaginary friends aren’t always good, but they help with slow rooms. People think your busy and want to see why people are interested. More will stick around if they come into your room and you are talking and laughing than will if your sitting there like a corpse.

#3. Power score. Duh

#4. Use topics to grab attention. For example, “Show me yours, I’ll show you mine”. That’s really generic, and means nothing. But it begs the question, “what are you referring to”? You’ll be able to tell a lot by people on how they respond to that topic. Also something like, “Ask me X”. “Make me laugh and I’ll show you X”. Etc

#5. Send messages to people and post blogs. To let people know when you’re going to be on, before you get on.

This is simple so I won’t spend much time on it.

When you are engaged with customers in your room. You want to spend a minute or two getting to know them.

But rather quickly, you want to start qualifying them to see if they have any chance of buying a show. Some people will tell you outright, “I don’t have any money”. That’s cool, no need to be rude to them but don’t pay attention much.

Some will say things like, “I don’t get paid til Friday”. This is usually bullshit. They have some money, but want to not buy a private show. Also screw that, see ya friday buddy.

Some will say thing like, “Show X then private”. Also full of crap usually. But you can handle it case by case. Sometimes if it’s a really specific fetish, they want a preview to get them excited and will buy shows. But more often then not, they are full of it.

Some will say things like, “Do you have X for private? Will you do X in private?” etc. These tend to be seriously interested in buying shows.

Sometimes they just start a show. But if you read the post on establishing regulars. You can pretty clearly qualify on someone who might want a show.

Ask questions to figure out who they are. You can tell if they are someone who might want a show. Having money is a good sign.

You can ask things directly like, “do you buy shows often, what do you like to do in them?”

Remember, people can lie unfortunately. And lots of guys try to trick models into thinking they’re gonna buy a show, to elicit freebies. In the industry we call these customers, “douchebags’.

Some models don’t qualify at all. They just sit there, talk, and wait til a show starts. You’ll get a lot more shows by identifying who you think are good candidates. Figuring out what they want, and being that thing.

Focus on the ones who will buy shows. Pretty simple idea.

This post is going to be focused on how you can create deep emotional connections with your customers and keep them coming back for show after show.

Regulars will make up for 75% or more of your income. People buy a show, like it, and come back for more. Regulars are the ones who will by a 2 hour private show just to chat with you. Life is good when you have more regulars.

#1. Creating a deep connection.

This is actually painfully easy, and you should be doing it all the time.

First, get to know them. Figure out REAL THINGS about them. What do they like, what do they do for work, hobbies, family, name, location, etc. Take notes on this (without them knowing you’re taking notes). Next time they come in your room, check the notes, and mention things you guys talked about before. If you remember them (or read notes on them) they will feel great about themselves and want you more.

Second, dig deeper. Start to figure out things that are emotionally important to them. Don’t always go for positive emotions. People like sharing sad things, and private things. And as a model online you can be someone that a person can open up to in a way that they could never do with a person they know in real life. Honestly, people will tell you things about themselves that they won’t tell their therapist. If you get a customer to do this in private, and handle it well, by being understanding, and relating to what they say. You will have some true fans. A good way to elicit this happening, is to share a personal story about yourself and let them reciprocate.

Third, position yourself as the answer. We all have things that we deeply want and need. For a lot of people it’s the same thing (acceptance, to be loved, etc). Yet we all tend to have different ways of expressing and attaining that desire. Figure out what their particular way is, and position yourself as the solution to that need. This will be best explained with an example story of a model and a customer.

Let’s say Jack is the customer and Jill is the model.

Jack is a 45 year old engineer, recently divorced, living alone in a big house. He has 2 kids, a mortgage, an $80,000 per year job, and a red BMW. He doesn’t go to bars/clubs, he did 20 years ago. But he feels like an old man now and doesn’t relate to that scene. So he has trouble getting laid. He’s not miserable, but he wishes he got more attention from women and resents his wife for being a cheating whore and ruining his picturesque life.

Jill is (insert your details). And she’s online now. Jack is in her room, he thinks she’s hot, isn’t totally planning on buying a show, just trying to entertain himself. So he starts talking to Jill. Jack finds that Jill is really easy to talk to and is expressing interest in him (that thing he really wanted). He reminds himself that it’s her job, and she doesn’t really care about him at all, and probably just wants money from him.

NEXT ACTION IS IMPORTANT (this scene plays out in your room 20 times per hour.

If Jill says, “let’s go private bb”. Jack is reassured she just wanted his money, and exits the room to go drink himself to sleep.

If Jill says, “Jack, I’m kinda bored you should entertain me”. Jack says, “hmm… she wants me to give her attention, while she gives me attention, attention is nice. I’ll play along just for entertainment”.

Conversation ensues. Jack starts to realize, “She is really great to talk to, and super hot, and seems to really like talking to him”. Jack then says to himself, “Sure, she started this for the money, but she isn’t some gold digging whore, she’s pretty normal. I know I’ll never have sex with her, but I enjoy talking to her, and this credit card is already on my account. I could have 1 on 1 time with her for 15-20 minutes, chat a bit, and even see her naked. That would be nice.”

*Private begins*. 15 minutes of time.

(note: this is where you really have to put the moves on)

At first, Jill continues the flow from the open chat of conversation with Jack. Jack likes it. Jill didn’t just rip all of her clothes of and start slamming herself with the nearest object. Jack respects Jill. And decides for a few minutes he’ll just chat instead of asking her to get naked.

So they talk and Jill is really showing interest in him. More a natural curiosity. Asking where he’s from, what he does, what he cares about, etc. Then Jill surprises him by really openly sharing where she’s from, what her life’s like, what she cares about, etc. Jack in Sacramento now can picture in his head Jill in Seattle, playing in the rain, hanging out at local places there, etc. He knows what his day to day life is like, and enjoys the though of a pretty girl’s day to day life being enhanced by his money.

Then Jill surprises Jack. And shares something deeply personal. She is actually single, and her boyfriend broke up with her 6 months ago, because he cheated on her. Jill was with him for 2 years, and was really lonely and isolated after it happened. Jack is in love. Because Jack knows exactly how Jill feels, because of his cheating whore ex wife. They reminisce on the common ground of how they both have trouble meeting people. Jack falls deeper in love. Jill tells Jack how nice it is meet a cool, normal guy that is actually interesting to talk to. Jack feels the same way, sure he’ll never be able to have sex with Jill, but at least he doesn’t feel so alone, and is getting attention from a beautiful girl.

Jack has to work in a few hours and ends the show after 30 minutes. He falls asleep.

In the morning he sees in his email that he has a message on Flirt from Jill. Jill seems really excited and tells him that she really loved the time they had. That she hopes to see him again soon. Jack’s the happiest guy in the world, and rushes through his work day to get back home and see Jill again on the site.

A regular is born.

That’s long enough for the story. Understand that if you’re a girl 10 jacks come into your room per hour. And you can develop a deep relationship with a lot of them. Use qualification (which I talk about in a few posts) to make sure Jack is someone who fits this candidate. If Jack is (19, lives at home, no job, poor parents) he won’t be buying many private shows.

Now here is the last part that really makes this effective. DON’T ACT. Try actually being interested in people. Don’t do it just to angle for a private show. Do it just to do it. You’ll figure out soon enough if they’ll buy a show or not. If they won’t, then they’ll know you can’t talk to them forever, move on to the next one.

POWER SCORE IS KING, POWER SCORE IS KING, POWER SCORE IS KING!

I repeat this, ad nauseum, to all new models (if you’re reading this you’re probably aware of that). Whenever anyone complains to me about having difficulty, it is almost always the fact that there power score is too low. Increasing it can be simple (login a lot more hours). But controlling your power score and keeping it high is crucial to continued success. It’s generated by the total credits for the past 7 days, and updates every 15 minutes. But outside of that here are some tips to manipulating it in your favor.

#1. Power Score Boosts.

Customers can give these to you, they last 7 days also and can have a big impact on your power score. If your power score isn’t as high as you’d like it to be (aim for top 50 rankings) you can just ask customers for power score boosts. Do quick shows in open for power score boost. Etc. They only have so many they can give, but customers gladly give them to models they like.

If you’re gone for a week and come back. Try sending out messages to your regular customers, posting blogs, and using the email marketing tool the day before you make it back online to ask all your fans for power score boosts. This will help you not come back with a 0% power score.

#2. Big cam tube videos. 1200 power score point boost permanently.

Under your VOD section. If you upload 5 video clips to our network’s tube site (you can do it right in the studio admin) you will get a permanent 1200 score boost. This is equivalent to having 12 customers give you a boost every week. It helps A LOT. I recommend doing it. You can use the tool to clip different sections, and not put explicit material in the clips you upload if you want. The videos will be on the WWW and anyone who knows that bigcametube exists (it’s not that popular) could view them potentially.

Those 2 things alone applied can help you keep your power score really high. If your room is slow, remember them. Higher power score = more traffic = more shows. So never forget this important feature.

Welcome to the “Super Model Guide”. I’m writing this pretty informally, as if I am speaking directly to an extremely talented model. These are advanced concepts and ideas that will make a lot of sense to those who have the ability to apply it. So I encourage you to read through this guide entirely and really aim to apply the concepts. Doing so will skyrocket you to the top.

Creating your Unique Selling Proposition.

This is a somewhat simple idea. But applying it can make all the difference in the world.

The first step is to ask a rather obvious question, “Why would a customer buy a private show from you, as opposed to any of the other 100s of models they have to choose from”?

There are really 2 types of reasons. Natural and Developed.

Natural reasons customers will choose you are things like:

You are stunningly beautiful

You have a particularly special physical feature (eyes, face, breasts, cock, muscle build in guys, etc)

You have an accent they find attractive (southern, british, none)

These come with you when you sign up. The trick to maximizing results from your natural features is to subtly highlight them. You may consider yourself average in the looks department but you have a great set of knockers (girls) or huge cock (guys). For a lot of people just one special thing is enough to fall in love with you. Don’t brag about your good features, that is a turn off. But for instance a girl with big boobs, could wear a low cut shirt that shows off a ton of cleavage. People will notice and love this. But don’t sit there and talk about how great your boobs are. Humility is attractive, vanity tends not to be.

Now developed features that can add to your unique selling proposition. This can be a lot of things.

Superior scene setup.

This is a good one, apart from having a high def camera and decent room setup. Consider adding things that other models aren’t doing. Special outfits, fetishes, toys, tools, etc. Examples might be, broadcasting while in a hot tub or shower, having a particularly cool piece of scenery behind you, art, design, etc. A dungeon scene for anyone in the domination category helps a lot. Be creative, and ask yourself two questions. First, what is NO ONE else doing that would be a cool experience for customers. Second, what is something that will get people’s attention and make them stay in your room and want to explore.

Types of show offered

Girls have more range to do this. Not all customers want to dictate every little second of a show. Try to plan some themed shows out ahead of time. Some people love to just watch you enjoy yourself. Shows where you shower and pamper yourself, do your nails, shave, are all good ideas. And remember, everything is possible. I have seen people in shows reading a book, while the customer just watches (ridiculous? yes). Special outfits, like nurse/maid/athlete/etc are all good ideas. I have even seen people get really niche with this, doing shows themed around vampires, religious icons, ice, fire, etc.

Don’t do something you aren’t comfortable with. When I say fire, the girl was a flamenco dancer, that was very experienced with flaming hula hoops etc. Don’t burn your fucking house down trying to experiment with something like this.

Keep it simple too. Dont’ try to force themed shows that people don’t want, if they want to see something plain and basic, let them have that.

You can definitely over-do it with your unique selling proposition. And I strongly caution against it, trying too hard isn’t really a turn on.

Finally, the BEST UNIQUE SELLING PROPOSITION EVER!

Is….

Just be yourself, that’s the most unique thing you could do. Talk about what you’re interested in, be who you are, enjoy yourself, have fun, stay entertained. Don’t act like your at a job where you have to pretend for other people. Authenticity is the best USP you could ever dream of thinking up.

But if you want to tweak and experiment, I’d advise you to browse through other models rooms, see what top models are doing, and ask how you can do something that is different and better.
